With the exception of Ezra (who was planned only a couple of months in advance), I planned to get pregnant at least two years in advance with my other two pregnancies. This clearly shows that I am a planner, people. A planner.
So, when something comes along that was not planned for (as in, Vernon not getting accepted into the chiro training program and, thus, not knowing what we'll do next), I don't know what to do with myself. I don't like NOT knowing. Everything else in our lives has changed enough already. I would at least like to know what happens next. Remember, I have a structured mind, people. A STRUCTURED MIND!
This is especially hard when Vernon keeps putting off making the decision on what to do (open his own practice, or associate for a year). QUESTION: Does it sound like I'm being passive-aggressive, knowing full well that Vernon will be reading this? ANSWER: A resounding yes! Make a decision, Vernon!
See, Vernon is the type of person who, when looking over a menu at a restaurant, is always the last to decide what to order. He is the type of person who takes forever when it is his turn to do something (ANYTHING!) when playing board games. I've known this about him for a long time. It is just the way that he operates.
But, c'mon! Pick an item from the menu, play your card... and MAKE A FREAKING DECISION!

Can you explain all this for those of us who can't keep up with Vernon's career? I can't remember which part was supposed to take place in which location at which time, etc. etc.
I agree, I am a planner too and just reading about your adventure is driving me a bit crazy! Can he talk to people who have gone both routes and see what might fit best for you guys right now?
I can so empathize, being another obsessive planner. I hope you get some resolution and feeling of control back soon, my friend!
Laura - After spending 4-1/2 months in Colorado, we were *supposed* to move to Naples, Florida in January where Vernon was going to do additional chiropractic business training for 6 months. However, he did NOT get accepted to do that at the last minute (even though they had originally told him he would be, and even let him know where he would be training, Naples).
So, he will graduate in November, and now he doesn't know what to do. His options are to open up on his own after graduation or to associate under another chiropractor for awhile. And that is what he hasn't decided on.
So Vernon-types drive me nuts during board games and I have to hold back (sometimes not very well) at trying to help them do their turn. So, in that spirit, I want to help you also. The best thing in this situation to do is very clear to me. You all will return to MN and he will work under a more experienced chiro, build up some regulars that just can't live without his amazing adjustments and then a few years down the road they will either make him a partner in their business or he will venture out on his own. Getting started from nothing is hard! Ok so there, decision made! Wasn't that easy Vernon? :)
Can you guys tell we miss you! Oh and guess who is often your first clients when you start your own business? Friends and family that feel to guilty to say no to you. So best to return to a place where your peeps are!! :)
Fabulous suggestions Janine! :)
Yes, I like Janine's plan because then you would be back to do birth photography when (God willing) I need you!
How's it going, any decisions? :)
