Soapbox Sunday - Papa Murphy's Pizza

Given the controversy surrounding the last two weeks of Soapbox Sunday, I've decided to tackle a lighter subject this week.

The best pizza in the entire world is Papa Murphy's Grilled Chicken and Bacon Stuffed Pizza. Anyone who doesn't agree with me is an idiot. That's right. I said it. Send me e-mails if you want, but I stand behind my opinion: ANYBODY WHO DOES NOT THINK THAT PAPA MURPHY'S GRILLED CHICKEN AND BACON STUFFED PIZZA IS THE BEST PIZZA IN THE ENTIRE WORLD IS AN IDIOT.

It's this deliciously succulent pizza filled with grilled chicken, onions, lots of cheese, a tantalizing creamy white sauce, topped by a second crust, bacon, and tomatoes. Oh, it is pure heaven.

We get this pizza three times a year when we watch our awards shows: The Golden Globes, The Oscars, and The Emmys. That is our tradition, and I love it.

I also had it as my first meal after giving birth to Ezra and Peace. This pizza has been there for me during some of the best moments of my life (those being, the birth of two of my children, and the watching of award shows).

I don't really know how I could even talk to someone who doesn't feel the same way about this as I do. I mean, what would we have in common? This (along with taste in movies and whether or not they laugh at the giant pumpkin head joke) is definitely a deciding factor in whether or not I will get along with a person.

There, I've said it. I'm glad I put this out there.

Soapbox... stepping down.

That pizza is SO good! We used to get it pretty often but now we've got an awesome shop in our neighborhood (Eden Pizza) so we order from them instead.

Thanks for the idea! We enjoyed it last night, but I did have them add some artichokes to it ;)

No, it was the best-tasting PB and J after Ocean's birth, not Ezra's.

I've never had one, but it sure *sounds* good. I wonder...can it be better than the carmelized onion, feta, spinach, green olive and sausage pizza, topped with minced rosemary, garlic and lemon zest I make at my house on Fridays? Can it? I'm feeling pretty damn proud of my pizza lately. It's my creative outlet for the week (sad, I know). Where is Papa Murphy's?

Chandra - Wow, you're pizza sounds amazing, and is inspiring me to try something more than our homemade basic cheese pizza (which is not nearly as exciting as carmelized onion AND feta AND spinach AND all that other stuff). You can find Papa Murphy's in any suburb or mid-size city in the country. It's a take-and-bake pizza chain... and it is AMAZING!

i keep trying to think of all the poor helpless animals used to make your pizza in order for it to sound disgusting.

it's a losing battle. it sounds absolutely marvelous.

sigh...

I like the idea of Papa Murphy's...cheap, DIY, etc, but I gotta say I am just let down each time! So I guess I am coming to the conclusion that I think you are an idiot for liking it!!!!! Seriously, Allison I just can't understand why YOU of all people like this. Really, what would the trad foodies say about this?

Is this the end of our friendship? ummmm....I'll miss you.

Allison, I am so glad I found your blog! It is so funny but also informative. Glad you like Papa Murphy's so much. Don't know what I would have done without that tip.
