My Mom is a Douche Bag

My mom is such a douche bag. She is getting her gallbladder taken out.

She hasn't even done all that she can do to prevent this from happening. All she has to do is do this liver flush, and that should take care of the problem. I've done that liver flush 3-4 times already, just for kicks and giggles (and because everyone needs a good liver flush now and again), and it is not that big of a deal. And it is such a beneficial alternative TO GETTING YOUR GALLBLADDER TAKEN OUT! (You know, because you need your gallbladder to do such things as digest fats and stuff.)

I don't get it. Such an easy thing to do. Something that everybody should be doing anyway every once in awhile. Why doesn't she do it in lieu of getting surgery? I don't freaking get it.

Mother wants one of us children (either me or my sister) to drive her to or from the hospital on Thursday, March 18. My sister can't do it, which leaves me. I CAN do it, and I want to be there to support my mother when she needs me to be there for her... but this is just something that I fundamentally disagree with. It'd be like asking for my support when you're going in to get an elective cesarean. Or an abortion.

I would be more apt to want to be there for her if SHE HAD DONE EVERYTHING SHE POSSIBLY COULD TO AVOID THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE, which she hasn't. Bah.

Sorry to hear about your mom's surgery. I read the link to the liver cleanse. When you did the liver cleanse, did you get gallstones out? It sounds so strange!

isn't it dangerous to do the liver cleanse? I heard that if you have problems with you gallbladder it could be dangerous to do the liver cleanse, as in you better be close to the emergency room...??

YAY for liver cleanses...I used to get all excited about doing these. I haven't done one in a while so thanks for the reminder. I can just visualize all the junk leaving my body as I cleanse it and then for some reason I just wanna eat a bunch of good stuff to take the place of the bad (I know strange). Anyways...I know what you mean...my mom elected for sinus surgery before looking into alt. measures then it didn't work so hmm lets see...SHE DID IT AGAIN! Still she has issues. THEN she got some horrid medication for her triglycerides and while she is taking it with tons of negative sideeffects she calls me to see if I will do all the research for her to find a more "natural" alternative BAH!!! I don't get it. You met my mom...shes nutty but not stupid so what gives? I won't even tell the story of her un-needed hysterectamy that flung her right smack in the middle of mennopause. I know I mispelled like every word but thats bc IM ALL WORKED UP HERE PEOPLE....this is surgery. Somone yes another being is going to put you to sleep and cut you open. WHY do that if its NOT your last resort? I'm SOOOO with you here Allison. BUT you knew that so really I'm just venting with you via your blog.

I'm curious if you did the parasite and kidney cleanses the site recommends before the liver cleanse?

Yes, when I did the cleanse I did get gallstones out. I didn't even know I had any... and I had a lot! I have heard nothing but good things about doing the cleanse from people who have done it.

I know of several people who were in the same situation as my mom who have done it and avoided surgery because of it. A good website to check out for more information, for those of you who ARE interested (unlike my mother) is www.curezone.com.

Char - No, I never did the parasite or kidney cleanses beforehand, but I should do that next time (after I'm done nursing I'll start cleansing again).

Speaking of www.curezone.com, I googled "liver flush" earlier today to learn more, and I found a link that has commentary on various steps and claims in Hulda Clark's recipe:

It's all very interesting.

my cousin's wife who is younger than me is having her gallbladder taken out. you know what exacerbates gallbladder issues? meat. i just want to be like um, stop eating meat. problem solved. and yet i don't want people to hate me...

FYI--like I told Mom, if you were unable to come down and help her out, I would (by the way, thanks for replying back to my e-mail)come help her out. You have a little more "free time" than me, and I know Mom came down to support you when you had Peace. Also, I would hardly compare Mom's decision to have her gallbladder out to having an abortion. Although I occassionaly appreciate your bluntness of some of your posts, they can also some times they can be very hurtful.

Here, watch this on your next Date Night, and then you'll feel better!

Try not to become mesmerized and fall madly in love with the guy in the chair though. . . that would not be good for Date Night.

If you have never had a gallbladder attack you can't possibly know how awful they are. I had my gallbladder out after 6 months of liver cleanses and diet changes. I was vegan for almost 6 weeks and still had attacks every couple days. So just not eating meat or doing the liver flush doesn't necessarily mean you will be magically fixed. Just because your mom chose to have the surgery doesn't make her a douche bag. It makes her your average person who wants to avoid great pain and vomiting. I don't think you can sit in judgement of others if you aren't in their shoes.
