Is it weird that I talk to my kids about wanting to be cremated after I die?
And then, I go on to say that I want them to put my ashes in a smoothie so they can drink them and that way I can always be a part of them.
And my daughter says, "Okay." And I say, "Really?" And she says, "Yeah, because it won't taste like anything because it will be all mixed up together." And I say, "I was just kidding, you know." And she says, "Oh." Long pause. "Well, I would still drink it."

I don't think it's weird. I think NOT talking about death is unhealthy but sadly normal in our culture. Death and birth have been removed from the home, and they've both become mysterious things to fear. I believe if we keep both of them at home as much as we can and speak of them like the normal parts of life that they are, we will be doing our children a wonderful service.
Well, I think that ashes are more like cat litter bits then actual ashes, so the blender wouldn't grind them well enough.
