I cancelled my membership to the YMCA the other day.
With our move coming up (July 1!) and getting used to a new environment in that regard, I didn't want to have to get used to a new YMCA and exercise routine right away as well. I think it's better for me to ease into all of these changes.
But, oh, how I do love the Y. My routine consists of Body Pump (two times a week), Tabata (one to two times), and yoga (once a week). I love it. I love being strong. I'm one of the strongest people in the Body Pump class (except for when it comes to the dead row, which I can't lift strong on for the life of me).
And I love this particular Body Pump instructor so very much, I'm not ready to get used to another one. (It's kind of like not wanting to get a new pet too soon after your old one dies.)
So, I will settle into this summer, doing a minimal amount of things (if I can help it), and then perhaps pick up with the Y again in the fall.
Do you want to know how much I weigh? I weigh 137 pounds. I don't feel like I weigh 137 pounds, and I don't think I look like I weigh 137 pounds, so I'm wondering if a lot of that weight is muscle.
I wonder what my Body Pump instructor weighs? It would be weird to ask her. But she won't be seeing me again after June 30, so what do I care?
(I do care, of course, because she's really cool and I don't want her last impression of me to be of a nerd asking her how much she weighs... instead, she'll remember me as the nerd who wore stupid gym shorts with paint on them and couldn't do a decent dead row.)

Breakfast Pizza
For Father's Day, the kids and I made Vernon a Breakfast Pizza.
Here is how we did it:
Crust -
2-1/2 tsp dry yeast
1 T sugar
1 cup warm water
3 cups flour
Dissolve 2-1/2 tsp dry yeast and 1 T sugar in 1 cup warm water. Let sit for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add 3 cups flour, 1 tsp salt, and 2 T olive oil. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes.
Then -
12 eggs
1 onion, diced
1 red pepper, diced
16 oz cheese, shredded
16 oz turkey bacon
Cook eggs and onion and red pepper in a frying pan. Cook bacon, and then chop into small pieces.
Put cooked egg mixture onto the crust. Top with the cheese, and then bacon. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes. It was really, really, really, really good.
Then, as per our Father's Day tradition, we went to a movie. This year it was Madascar 3. It was really swell. Something I did not know going into it but found out after the movie (because I'm the gal who sits there watching the credits): Noah Baumbach co-wrote the screenplay! This was very exciting for me, because he is one of my favorite screenwriters (see: The Squid and the Whale, please).
And here is something we did while we were in the theater: click here.

More Charts!
So, here are the other charts that I was telling you about yesterday.
This one is called: "Birth Weight". This chart accounted for approximately 200 babies, and concluded that my friends tend to have pretty big babies. The U.S. average is 7 pounds 8 ounces, and 71% of my facebook friends had babies that weighed more than that (our average was 8 pounds 1 ounce).
And this chart is using the same information, except charting it along with gestation. It's called:"Birth Weight with Gestation".
And here's just a shot of that same chart, except removing the pre-term babies, and it's called: "Birth Weight and Gestation of Full-Term Babies":
That's all of the charts I've done so far. They've proven to be quite popular on my facebook page. A lot of people respond to them, and people have offered suggestions of what they want to see next, so there will probably be more done in the future.

Charts!
So, with my facebook account (not my GoofyMama one, my actual, REAL facebook page), I've gotten in the habit of asking questions (about birth stuff) and then making charts about them. I'm completely fascinated by them and spend lots of time looking at them.
The first chart I did is called: "The Ages Allison Kuznia's Facebook Friends Were When They Had Their Children". It had 89 respondents. It concluded that the average age for a first-time mom (amongst my friends) was 26.3.
This next chart is called: "The Gestation of Pregnancy Among Allison Kuznia's Facebook Friends". (This chart only included births where labor started spontaneously.) It had 85 respondents and accounted for roughly 200 births (forgive me for not going back and counting). Conclusions: 62.5% of gestations go 40 weeks or longer.
I think that's all I need to bore you with (or entertain you with immensely!) today. I have two more that I'll share tomorrow.

What Is Going On?
What is going on, Allison? Why, in the last several months, have you only posted food recipes and then that one obscure post on evil, where you were probably the only one who even found those thoughts remotely interesting? (Seriously, I was telling Vern about that "nature of evil" stuff on a car ride one day, and I could just see his eyes glazing over, as I continually shouted at him, "Isn't that interesting? Isn't that interesting?")
Let me answer those questions for you, dear readers. Let me answer them now.
What is going on?
Oh, not much. Just busy with life, you know how it is.
Didn't I heard that you were finally moving out of your brother-in-law's house?
Yes! We are moving out on July 1. Just 20 short months since we moved in! Boy, does time fly when you're having fun! We will be moving into an upper level of a duplex that my friend owns in St. Paul. Very nice place. Hardwood floors. Lots of nice woodwork. Three bedrooms.
So, is Ocean going to school next year or what?
Yes! Ocean will be going to school next year! It is a private Christian Montessori homeschool academy. She got accepted, we got a scholarship, and it is a really lovely school. She will be going to school three days a week, so she will still be registered as a homeschooler.
How is Vernon's chiropractic business doing?
Better.
How is your photography business doing?
Wonderful! Have you *liked* me on facebook yet? Here are some slideshows from some births that I've been to this past month. (Go here and here.) I would like to branch out into take videos at birth, but I need to upgrade my camera in order to do that.
Are you going to show us some of your charts?
Yes, I will show you some of my charts. Not now though. Not now.
What in the world are you talking about, charts?
You will see.
Seen any good movies lately?
Yes! I saw this little movie called "The Hunger Games" (I think it was an art-house flick), and it was really good! And this other movie called "We Need to Talk About Kevin" was really well-done, but very, very, oh, so very... dark. "American Reunion" was good (Vern and I went back and watched the three other "American Pie" movies, and that was fun to do. I really like that "American Pie" gang. I really do).
Anything else you want to talk about today?
No.
