Okay. Here is what I like.
On Halloween, we went to a nicer part of town to trick-or-treat because there is really nothing around where we live. Vern, myself, and Peace waited in the car while Ocean and Ezra got out to trick-or-treat in various cul-de-sacs. It was cute, but this wasn't the part that I really liked.
Because after that, down one final street, Vern got out with Peace and took all the kids to a couple of houses. And this is what I liked:
I liked sitting in the car watching Vernon trick-or-treating with the kids.
It was silent and still in the car, and I liked watching Vernon from afar, going from house to house with the kids. It was like I was watching a memory of my life, in a way. A very good memory. Something I wanted to be sure to store for all of eternity.
I kind of want to use the term "sexy" to describe it, but it wasn't really a "man wearing a baby" type of sexy kind of moment, so that's not the right word. It was different than that. It was more than that.
There was something about it that was so attractive, watching him with the kids... I think it is maybe the fact that he is such a good dad that is so attractive to me. I like that about him.
And I've noticed that with other things too. Other points of attractiveness.
1) When he dances with the kids. (Lately, it's been to the tune of Memories by Weezer, but the song changes all the time. I'll post a video of him with a song from a couple years ago at the end of this.)
2) When he sat in the birth tub with me as I labored with our babies.
3) When he plays catch outside with the kids.
4) When he comes home from work and the kids all run to into his arms.
5) When he snuggles with the kids and reads to them at night.
You know. Things like that. He's a good one, he is.

I call that "gorilla mama syndrome." Because male gorillas attract females by being nice to their kids. Its true! The first time Dan sang Gregory to sleep when he was a baby, I totally wanted to jump his bones! Aren't we lucky to have such sexy Daddies for our babies? :)
