For Father's Day, the kids and I made Vernon a Breakfast Pizza.
Here is how we did it:
Crust -
2-1/2 tsp dry yeast
1 T sugar
1 cup warm water
3 cups flour
Dissolve 2-1/2 tsp dry yeast and 1 T sugar in 1 cup warm water. Let sit
for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add 3 cups flour, 1 tsp salt, and
2 T olive oil. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes.
Then -
12 eggs
1 onion, diced
1 red pepper, diced
16 oz cheese, shredded
16 oz turkey bacon
Cook eggs and onion and red pepper in a frying pan. Cook bacon, and then chop into small pieces.
Put cooked egg mixture onto the crust. Top with the cheese, and then bacon. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes. It was really, really, really, really good.
Then, as per our Father's Day tradition, we went to a movie. This year it was Madascar 3. It was really swell. Something I did not know going into it but found out after the movie (because I'm the gal who sits there watching the credits): Noah Baumbach co-wrote the screenplay! This was very exciting for me, because he is one of my favorite screenwriters (see: The Squid and the Whale, please).
And here is something we did while we were in the theater: click here.
