We (and by "we", I mean mostly Vernon) painted the rooms before we moved in, because it made the most sense to do it that way, so we chose pretty neutral colors to put on the walls. Didn't really have any ideas on what to do with the rooms when we moved in, so we (and by "we", I mean mostly I) wanted a neutral palette to start with. I figured I could add color into the rooms in other ways.

So, here is the colors we painted on the walls:

I like getting ideas for room layout and paint colors from TV shows that I watch. The Labrador Blue that we used in the upstairs hall was from the show Modern Family. I almost used the Saybrook Sage that was used in the Braverman's home on Parenthood, but never found a place for it.

Here is a website that will show you still shots of various homes from a bunch of TV shows and movies, as well as (sometimes) listing the paint colors that were used. It's pretty awesome.
